Experience "Toxic" at CIFF44... from Home

On March 6th, we announced that Toxic: A Black Woman’s Story had been officially selected for the 44th annual Cleveland International Film Festival (CIFF44).

Then, COVID-19 swept the nation and the globe, leaving filmmakers and film festivals reeling and assessing the landscape of a seemingly broken film festival season.

We’re pleased to say that CIFF44 got it right in adapting to the new normal:

While we are saddened we can't be with you in person, we are excited to offer a space for you to experience CIFF44 at home. CIFF Streams will offer subscribers access to many of the films slated to be part of the CIFF44 line-up!

As further stated on the CIFF website:

CIFF44 Streams will launch right here on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at 11:00 AM and run until 11:59 PM on Tuesday, April 28, 2020. The line-up, which will be announced on Wednesday, April 15, will showcase hundreds of the exceptional feature and short films originally slated to screen at CIFF44. CIFF44 Streams viewers will have access to single screening tickets at $8 per film beginning Wednesday, April 15.

Toxic: A Black Woman’s Story will be among the films showcased in CIFF44 Streams. And we’re hoping this will give more Ohioans than ever the opportunity to view this film from the comfort of their own homes.

While the “Toxic” cast, crew, and film stakeholders are saddened to miss the joys of engaging with you at a live, in-person film festival, we tip our caps to the Cleveland International Film Festival for coming up with a solution to “reinvent” CIFF44.
